Our History

Everest Academy Manila opened in August of 2007. It was brought to the Philippines with the help of the first Filipino members of Regnum Christi, a Catholic movement composed of lay people and priests from the Religious Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ. Everest Academy is one of over 230 Regnum Christi schools worldwide. It is the first Regnum Christi School in Asia and the first Catholic International School in the Philippines.

We started with only 19 students in Grades 1 and 2, which eventually became 33 by the end of our opening year. Our first batch of 8th Grade Middle Schoolers graduated in SY2013-14. We opened our Kindergarten and High School in SY2014-15 as Everest Academy was created to accommodate a Lower School (Kinder to Grade 5), a Middle School (Grades 6 to 8) and a High School (Grades 9 to 12). We will be over 400 students from Kindergarten to Grade 10 in SY2015-16.

Regnum Christi and Legionaries of Christ

Regnum Christi is a Catholic movement composed of lay people and priests from the Religious Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ. Regnum Christi enjoys full ecclesiastical approval and its members are engaged in a variety of projects and ministries worldwide at the service of the Church and of society. Everest Academy exists in large part due to the dedicated efforts of the men and women of Regnum Christi.

The first work of apostolate of the Regnum Christi was a school: in 1954, the Cumbres Institute in Mexico City opened. The Regnum Christi presently supports over 230 schools worldwide implementing the Integral Formation® method of education.
